Gaven RF shielded and EMI shielded doors. Three metal shielded doors in manufacturing facility.

Gaven Industries’ Standard series Air Seal doors are lightweight, easy to operate, and require very little maintenance. 304 Stainless Steel is used throughout the construction of the frame and door. Additionally, all seams are fully welded. Unlike competitors’ aluminum or brass doors, the 304 stainless is highly corrosive resistant and can be cleaned with normal cleaning products.

Gaven’s ‘Zero Friction’ opening and closing force design makes them as easy to operate as any standard commercial door, and with minimal maintenance, will continue to operate as designed for decades. Advanced machining techniques are used to assure proper and continuous alignment of the door leaf and frame.

Gaven doors come standard with a Heavy Duty Roton Hinge that will last for the life of the installation, two stainless steel pull handles and two door-mounted ‘Push to Open’ switches. Doors can be electrically controlled to allow simple integration into a building’s security system and/or interlocked with other doors or systems. Additional options are available such as an automatic operator, magnetic locks and deadbolts.

Gaven Industries’ Pneumatic Doors exhibit the highest R.F. shielding performance in the industry. They can be manufactured to any size and in any configuration (i.e. single, double, uneven double). The door leaf(s) can be finished with any commercially available wood veneer species or plastic laminate.

Gaven’s EMP / HEMP Shielded Doors are designed and tested to meet and exceed the requirements of MIL-STD 188-125-2. This makes our doors the best in the industry in performance. Additionally, Gaven’s Standard series Air Seal doors are lightweight, easy to operate, and require little maintenance. All seams on the 304 Stainless Steel construction are fully welded for optimal shielding effectiveness. Unlike competitors’ aluminum or brass doors, the 304 stainless is highly corrosive resistant and can be cleaned with normal cleaning products.

Gaven’s STC 50+ door is the only industry-patented Sound-Attenuating R.F. Shielded Air Door of its type. Designed to meet and exceed MIL-STD 188-125, these doors will protect electronics and electrical systems from EMP/HEMP events while also meeting ICD/ICS 705 standards for SCIF rooms.

Gaven Industries’ Sound Attenuating R.F. Shielded Doors are made entirely of 304 Stainless Steel with all joints fully welded. They are easy to operate and are electrically controlled to allow simple integration into the buildings security system and / or interlock with other systems. Additional options are available such as an automatic operator, magnetic locks and deadbolts.

Gaven SCIF Door

Gaven’s HEMP Shielded Hatch boasts the highest level of performance in its class and utilizes the many of the same features of our trusted HEMP Shielded Heavy Duty Doors. Hatches can be custom made to fit any size opening or configuration based on the customer’s requirements. Options include use of single or dual doors and single or dual actuators. The Hatch Leaf and Frame are manufactured from 304 stainless steel. They are fully welded, insulated and thermally broken. For exterior applications an aluminum weather guard can be provided.

Gavens’ Patent Pending Exterior Heavy Duty Hinge is manufactured using non-ferrous materials, which eliminates rust and corrosion, allowing the hinge to be used in harsh environments. The robust design and quality manufacturing assures the hinge will be easy to use, require minimal and last the life time of the installation. Gaven Industries HEMP Shielded Roof Hatch employs many of the same features of our Exterior HEMP Shielded Doors and performs to the same level.

Each air seal operates independently of one another. Should one of the two Air Seals become damaged, it can be disabled and the other will remain functional. This innovative design ensures the Hatch will perform to the required shielding effectiveness until the damaged air seal can be replaced.

Gaven Industries’ Wide Knife Edge Door is the only knife edge door of its kind. Its design and manufacturing is exclusive to Gaven, and truly brings the design of a “knife edge” door forward into the 21st century. Unlike the extruded brass commonly used in “knife edge” doors, the 304 stainless steel used throughout the construction is not subject to wear and corrosion due to everyday use.

Below are the common features of Gaven’s Wide Knife Edge Door:

  • 304 Stainless Steel construction.
  • The 1″ wide 304 Stainless Steel tube ‘Knife’ can be made from .080 thick stainless for a lighter weight door or 1/8″ thick stainless when a greater impact-resistant door edge is required.
  • Custom Heavy Duty Hinges.
  • Latching hardware is not required for small openings – i.e. escape hatches.
  • Available in custom configurations and sizes.
  • Gaven Industries’ Wide Knife Edge Door meets all requirements of MIL-STD- 188 – 125 -1 and 2, NSA 94-106 and the more stringent NSA 65-5.

Gaven understands that performance requirements and use case can widely vary from one enclosure to another. The same can be said for doors as well. This is also true of an enclosure’s components, including the doors.

Gaven’s design team will work with you to design the best fit for the application. Whether it’s a hatchway or a door large enough for a tank to drive through, Gaven has either made a door or can make a door to suit your needs.

Refer to the attenuation characteristics charts to determine what material and cell size are right for your application.

Angle Frame:

  • This construction method typically involves a frame made of angled metal sections.
  • The frame is attached to the structure of the shielded enclosure, providing support for the waveguide material.
  • Angle frame construction is often used for installations where a rigid frame is required to maintain the shape and integrity of the waveguide panels.

Ducted:

  • Ducted waveguides are designed with a duct-like structure, allowing airflow to pass through the interior of the waveguide.
  • This construction method provides a pathway for air to flow while maintaining EMI/RFI shielding integrity.
  • Ducted waveguides are commonly used in HVAC systems where maintaining airflow is crucial, such as in data centers or industrial settings.

Ducted w/ Man Bars (Secure):

  • Ducted waveguides with man bars incorporate additional metal bars or grilles within the duct structure.
  • These man bars help to reinforce the waveguide and provide additional support for the ducted airflow.
  • This construction method is suitable for applications where increased structural integrity and security are required, such as in high-security environments or specialized industrial applications.
